Staff are courteous and helpful breakfast is plentiful but menue for Westerners is limited. It has no competition in the city. The Rimpao is comfortable and the service is adequate. English is understood and spoken by a small number of staff. The view is pleasing from the upper floors. The pool (not heated) has just been repaired and is a great attraction for any kids. The ground-floor restaurant has a limited foreign menu. Beer is available (no wine or spirits). The lower level offers four evening entertainment venues for relaxing, including a snooker hall and an Extreme disco. This hotel also offers full convention facilities and meeting rooms. Internet access is available at a cost, and the connection is of a somewhat poor quality and slow. But, hey, this is not downtown Bangkok! I used my Blackberry without any problems so had no need for additional Internet connection.I will certainly stay at the Rimpao the next time I am in the area on paleontological research. Average to poor value for money." | booking service is excellent, although the deposit is same value as the FULL room charge. Hence if there are any problems, you just lose your deposit.
